Madras Artillery
A scarce and fine quality example the gilt back plate with gilt mounts, comprising a crowned circular strap 'Madras Artillery' enclosing the post 1837 arms of Great Britain, laurel sprays embellished with battle honours enclose the strap, at the bottom the honour 'Nagpoor' over a cannon over a plinth 'Ava Java', to the left of the cannon an elephant on a plinth 'Assaye', to the right the 'Sphinx/Egypt', complete with a leather liner, very fine condition
