A very fine and scarce example the gilt back plate with silver mounts, comprising a Royal ducal coronet over a scroll 'India', laurel sprays enclose an ovela strap 'York & Lancaster', in the centre a rose over '84', at the base of the laurels a scroll 'Nive' and a further scroll below 'Peninsula', complete with original leather liner, c.1830-1855 (Parkyn 457), excellent condition
