62nd (Wiltshire) Regiment of Foot
A very rare and extremely fine quality example the octagonal gilt back plate with silver and gilt mounts, comprising a crowned cross pattee, battle honours are placed on the outer edges of the arms of the cross, 'Peninsula Ferozeshar Sobraon Nive' the inner panels of the cross with 'hob-nail' decoration, in the centre of the cross gilt laurel sprays enclose the numerals '62', these on a lined domed ground, c.1848-1855, (Parkyn 435), excellent condition
