QueenslandThe Chalon IssuesRegistered Mail1875 (12 Mar.) envelope from Gympie "via Melbourne & Brindisi (deleted) Galle" to London, bearing 2d. blue (2) and 6d. yellow-green with indistinct sunburst cancellations, showing "registered/gympie" in seriffed letters in red, despatch c.d.s., Brisbane Registered Letter Office c.d.s. in red (similar to Campbell Type 2 though without stops and unrecorded by him) and London Registered oval d.s. (31.5); an attractive franking with the registration fee paid with 2d. stamps - the new 4d. stamps not being issued until later in 1875. Photo
