A group of 3 specimens of proposed designs for the first issue of Postal Orders to be introduced in 1881, with an original envelope in which they were given to Messrs Portals by the Bank of England in 1880, on various colour paper, no watermarks (presumably they were given to Portals for this reason), all with Abergavenny at top right (this was alphabetically the first Post Office), annotated with either June or September 1880, very fine to extremely fine and extremely rare.
