A small group of trials for the first issue of Postal Orders to be introduced in 1881, comprising trial designs for 5 shillings on plain paper (3), on watermarked paper with 7/6d denomination, and three sheets of watermarked paper, two for 7/6d and one for 5 shillings, all contained in original blue envelope, the notes held together with a brass paper fastener, the top note with large annotation presumably of a watermark design, mostly annotated also with various dates in 1880, very fine to extremely fine and extremely rare.
