Prince Edward Island Third Issue 1869 (Spring) Printing, Off White Paper, Perf 11 1/4 (machine B1) Covers 1869 (21 Dec.) envelope from Summerside to Vernon River Lot 50, bearing 2d. rose compound perf 11 3/4x11 3/4x11 1/4x11 1/4 and showing at right two extra vertical rows of perf 11 1/4, clearly tied by 10 bar oval (Type 134) and overstruck with 8 bar oval of Charlotte Town in transit, showing Type P50 despatch d.s. with Prince Edward Island Type P8 c.d.s. on reverse; the envelope a little soiled, top left corner cut off and with flap missing. An important cover illustrating the use of the "B1" machine to provide the compound perforation on the left hand side and a further, careless usage giving two extra "B1" rows towards the right hand side. Photo Estimate £ 150-180 Note: This confirms the use of two types of B machine and not a variation of the one B machine
