Newfoundland Airmails 1930 (Oct.) "Miss Columbia" On October 9 1930 the "Miss Columbia" took off from Harbour Grace and after covering 2,650 miles was forced down on the beach at Tresco Island in the Scilly Isles Envelope to London, marked "Per Air Mail ´Columbia´ Hr Grace to London, England September 1930", franked at 50c. and tied by St. John´s machine d.s. of 25th September and showing, on reverse, Harbour Grace c.d.s. of 9th October.
