Great Britain Postal History Valentines 1809 Regency period Valentine with central oval vignette, etched and hand coloured, within a lozenge shaped border, hand-cut to simulate lace, with manuscript verse inside ("The favour you have shewn to me I think deserves much courtesy...."), used from London to Arundel with "kingston/12" mileage mark and dated 13 Feb.; a little soiled and slightly fragile but an extremely early Valentine and a very rare type.
