China 1885-88 Small Dragons 1885 Perforation 12 1/2, Rough Perforations 5ca. bistre variety imperforate between horizontal pair, with a central strike of Tientsin type D seal in blue. There is a very light horizontal bend caused by a seam on the original cover (the gap in the postmark illustrates this) and a blunted corner perf. A remarkable and fresh example of this rare error. Possibly only ten examples were originally produced; these appear to have been used on general mail, so few have survived.
