x Canada 1851 Laid Paper, Imperforate 3d. orange-vermilion horizontal strip of four [pane A, 31-34] with [34] showing a major re-entry, large margins on three sides, just into frame at right, cancelled and tied by four neat target obliterators on 1851 (25 Sept.) entire from Montreal to Buffalo, N.Y., showing despatch c.d.s. and curved framed "canada" border h.s., both in red; the entire with two vertical filing creases, one of which crosses the third stamp in the strip. A very scarce and desirable franking, being one of only seven covers recorded showing this rate and franking, bearing the laid paper printing. Photo Estimate £ 3,500-4,500 provenance: E.
