1854 1 Dollar. Uncirculated. Rarely encountered in Mint State, the 1834 Seated dollar has a paltry mintage of only 33,140 coins, and is seldom seen in grades above XF. The present example remains pleasingly detailed with a fully hammered strike and semi-prooflike reflectivity in the fields. A milky tan patina sits over both sides with the infrequent, but noticeable infusion of purple and blue tones. While a lack of major abrasions gives this example the eye appeal of a higher grade, several light wispy marks are noticed in the right obverse field and preclude this attractive dollar from the Select grade.
