Egypt French Post Offices 1871 (8 Aug.) "chargé" linen lined envelope with bearing 1869 5f. grey horizontal strip of four, vertical strip of three and four singles on flap, 1863-70 80c. rose horizontal strip of five, 1870-71 imperf. Bordeaux 20c. blue, these affixed on top border with minor faults, each tied by Grand Chiffres "5080" (Alexandrie), black boxed "PD" and "alexandrie/8/aout./71" c.a.d. alongside, large "charge" with ms. "No.696", blue Paris (16/8) arrival marking on reverse, opened out for display with minor faults at border, part of address cut out and repaired, very rare rate of 59.20f. and the highest franking known from Alexandria.
