1840 One Penny Black Plate XI Cover 1841 (22 Aug.) entire bearing GJ in greyish black, very large even margins all round and well tied by a light strike of grey-black Maltese Cross on entire to Tattinham (Tottenham), London with Stroud open-top c.d.s. alongside, London arrival (23.8) on flap. The stamp is incredibly fresh and fine, a light horizontal filing crease at foot does not detract from this magnificent cover. Cat. £15,000 Estimate £ 4,000-5,000
