1840 One Penny Black Plate II Unused Registered on 22nd and 27th April First recorded use on 2nd May The plate was destroyed on 19th November 1841 The shades found range from intense black, through black to grey-black GG, in a pale shade, large to very large margins showing a fragment of the adjoining stamp at left, unused with large part original gum; tiny thin spot in the left margin, well clear of the design.
