x Palestine, Currency Board, £50, 30 September 1929, red serial number A008248, purple and pale green, the White Tower at Ramleh at left, value at centre in pale brown guilloche, value at each corner, three printed signatures low centre of Sir John Caulcutt, Sir Percy Ezechiel and Roland Venables Vernon, the members of the Palestine Currency Board, reverse purple and green, the Citadel of Jerusalem with the Tower of David at centre, value at left and right and low centre (Pick 10b, Dabbah page 155), about 30 examples believed extant and this without doubt one of the finest examples known and a cornerstone note for the series. An example was sold in the Birnbaum collection at Spink in 2007, that example and this one are the only two known notes of this type to be grafitti ´free´. An original good very fine and a handsome example, extremely rare in this grade Estimate £ 40,000-45,000
