x Palestine, Currency Board, £10, 1 January 1944, red serial number C000494, blue and pale green, the White Tower , Ramleh, at left, value in pale brown guilloche at centre, value at each corner, three printed signatures of the Members of the Palestine Currency Board , E.B.Boyd, Sir Percy Ezechiel and R.N.Kershaw low centre, reverse blue, the Citadel of Jerusalem with the Tower of David at centre, value at left and right and low centre (Pick 9d, Dabbah page 193), only 20 notes believed extant for type and a very low serial number. Number C000945 was sold by Spink as part of the Birnbaum collection in 2007 for £18000. A faint crease at centre otherwise almost uncirculated and without doubt one of the finest example known, very rare Estimate £ 12,000-14,000
