France Postal History 1812 - The Grand Armée Campaign in Russia 1812 (29 June) entire letter headed "Vilna ce 29 juin" to Paris and re-addressed to Reuil, with manuscript "3" to pay the additional Postage, a long (4 page) letter from Captain De Castellane to his father, giving details of the capture of Vilna and the retreat of the Russian Army; fine. Photo Estimate £ 400-500 note: The above lot and the following three lots were sent by Captaine (later Maréchal) de Castelane (1788-1862) to his family in Paris during Napoléon´s invasion of Russia in 1812.
