Great Britain Illustrated and Printed Envelopes 1898 (23 Aug.) hand-painted envelope depicting a mounted native African warrier, addressed to Mrs. King Harman, Santa Lucia, West Indies, bearing 1887-92 2 1/2d. with Perth cancellations, the envelope with embossed "queen´s barracks/perth." on flap; fine. A wonderful example from this famous correspondence, by the noted amateur artist Hugh Rose, who was first and foremost an experienced officer with the Black Watch, seeing service in the Sudan, Southern Africa and Europe.
