Northern Nigeria Cameroon Anglo-German Border Commission 1907? envelope to Berlin, endorsed on reverse "Sargeant Schultze, Yola Cross Schneten Grenz Expedition, Kamerun", bearing German Kamerun 20pf tied by "bamenda" c.d.s. and Northern Nigeria 1905 1/2d. invalidated with solid black diagonal line. Rare. Photo Estimate £ 400-500 Note: Sergeant Schultze of the German contingent took part in the Battle of Sankolo in Nigeria helping the British against native insurgents. He was awarded the Royal British Africa Service Medal with clasp West Africa 1908 and was given permission by the Kaiser to accept it. The Yola-Cross rapids Surveying Expedition took place from July 1907 to 1909.
