Northern Nigeria West African Frontier Force 1903 (11 May) Northern Nigeria Regiment crested envelope to Southsea, bearing 1902 1d. tied by two manuscript lines and poor "northern nigeria" c.d.s., showing blue crayon "T" with Portsmouth c.d.s. (14.6) on reverse; the envelope with large repaired tear across top. Photo Estimate £ 300-400 Note: This cover is from Officer G.L. Uniacke of the King´s Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment) serving with the 1st Battalion on the Sokoto - Burmi campaign. This campaign was the follow up to the Kano - Sokoto campaign of 29 January to 15 March 1903. Gerald Uniacke was an honorary Lieutenant with the WAFF.
