Northern Nigeria West African Frontier Force 1901 (Apr.) envelope addressed to a naval Officer in the Channel Squadron and re-addressed to Essex, bearing 1900 1d. with black manuscript "Bida, 26/4/01, JC" (initials of Captain Cochrane who was Military Resident at Bida), showing Portsmouth "625" duplex and, on reverse, "lokoja/post office" oval d.s. in violet for 29 April partly overstruck by arrival datestamps.
