Orange Free State 1890 (Dec.) - 91 "1d" Surcharges First Setting, 1d. on 4d. Ultramarine S.G. Type a, variety surcharge double, one diagonal, a small study comprising a rejoined vertical pair with interpanneau margin at right, a horizontal pair, three singles and a used example cancelled with Bloemfontein squared-circle 1895 d.s on piece, all showing the surcharge variety applied at a variety of angles and accompanied by an illustration of how, from the vertical pair, the variety occurs; the vertical pair without gum, the others with part original gum; accompanied by a further single with offset of the surcharge on the reverse, and a used forgery.
