x Malaya and States Straits Settlements 1872 (15 Feb.) entire letter from Singapore to Le Havre, France, marked "via Brindisi", bearing 8c. 1867-72 8c. orange (2, one with damaged corner) tied by light firm´s chop and cancelled by circle of bars, showing despatch c.d.s. and unframed "pd", all in blue-black, French maritime c.d.s. in red with arrival datestamp on reverse. Although this entire is marked as via Brindisi it presumably went at the 16 cents per 1/4oz. via Marseilles. An attractive franking. Photo Estimate £ 300-400
