Antarctic Bases and Territories Argentina 1912 envelope to Buenos Aires, bearing 1c. and 2c. (2) cancelled with a fine strike of the "Tierras Argentinas Australes/Estaciön orcadas" h.s. in blue and with one 2c. value tied by arrival c.d.s. (1.2), the reverse with a further strike of the handstamp used as a seal and two other arrival c.d.s.; the envelope with a little light soiling at foot, otherwise fine and very rare, being one of only a handful of examples on cover recorded. Also 1906 picture postcard of Penguins on Orcados, addressed to Dr. Harvey Pirie in Scotland though not sent as an item of mail. Photo Estimate £ 1,200-1,400 provenance: Christie´s Robson Lowe, 1988
