Antarctica 1928-47 Richard E. Byrd Expeditions Collection of mail carried on the various expeditions, including 1st. Expedition 1928 with "Bay of Whales" cachet, 1929 and 1930 with Map and Little America cachets, and seven spectacular original photographs with various views of the expedition, three showing the aeroplane on the snow, in flight or damaged, 2nd. Expedition covers (5), one from Snow Hill and carried "Via Transatlantic Airplane ´Polar Star´" to Maryland (believed to be one of only three items carried), and later items (9).
