Gibraltar Mail to or via Gibraltar 1866 (22 Aug.) entire letter from Manchester "via France" to Oporto, bearing 6d. mauve Plate 6 (the original 6d. value floated off, the present one being illustrative), accidentally sent to Gibraltar and showing circular-framed "s" (indicating transit via Spain) together with a superb strike of the "missent-to/gibraltar" h.s. and Gibraltar c.d.s. (28.8), also showing circular-framed "pd", boxed "por alexandria" (indicating that the incoming ship was serving on the Alexandria route) and "300" (reis) local charge for delivery h.s., the reverse with London (23.8), Lisbon (1.9) and Porto (1.9 and 2.9) c.d.s.
