Gibraltar The Spanish Overland Mail Regular arrangements were made, about 1749, for the English Mails to be carried through Spain although the service was suspended in times of war 1803 (7 Mar.) entire letter from Edward, Duke of Kent (the father of Queen Victoria) during his brief period as Governor of Gibraltar, signed "Kent & Strathern" and addressed to Francis Freeling, Secretary to the General Post Office, in London, showing a fair to fine, partially oxidised strike of the very rare "S. Roq/andalucia/vaxa" h.s. in red; the contents regarding the Postmaster of Halifax, Nova Scotia. A remarkable cover.
