Pylades.) with a later replacement silver straight suspension, cracked on one side; Baltic 1854-55, unnamed as issued; Naval Long Service & G.C., V.R., wide suspension (H.H. Hodge. Sailmr. H.M.S. Sans Pareil. 21Yrs.), toned, minor edge knicks throughout, otherwise good very fine, with original parchment Certificate of Service in contemporary iron container (3) Estimate £ 600-800 Petty Officer Henry H. Hodge, born Plymouth, Devon, 1817; service in the Royal Navy included in H.M.S. Pylades, 1840-43; Ajax, 1853-56; and Sans Pareil 1860-61; awarded Long Service & G.C. Medal 4.7.1861. Hodge´s certificate of service gives his rate as Sail maker throughout his service, finally advancing to Able Seaman.
