Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (John James Reynolds), very fine, with the following contemporary related documentation: - Letter from the War Office to recipient´s wife informing her where her husband has been buried, dated 16.1.1916 - Confirmation of Payment Slip from the Imperial War Graves Commission to Mrs. E.W. Reynolds, the inscription on the grave to be ´Let Saints on Earth in concert sing with those whose work is done´, dated 25.5.1922 - Plaque enclosure slip - Three photographs of recipient´s grave - Regimental Embroidered Postcard, addressed to a ´Miss A. Reynolds´ [the recipient´s daughter] with a small photograph of men of the Cameronians, dated 30.6.1915, in small glass frame Estimate £ 50-70 Captain John James Reynolds, born Bethnal Green, London, 1875; enlisted as Private 4839, Scottish Rifles, September 1893; Corporal, January 1897; Sergeant, 9.4.1903; Colour Sergeant, 20.10.1911; Commissioned Second Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, Scottish Rifles, 8.4.1915; served during the Great War on the Western Front from 27.5.1915; Lieutenant and temporary Captain, 18.11.1915; died of wounds, 31.12.1915, and is buried in Bethune Military Cemetery, France.
