Surcharged on Stamps of India 1867 (Oct.) envelope from Singapore to Vermont, USA, marked "From U.S. Str Wachusett", bearing 8c. on 2a. yellow pairs (2) and a single, all cancelled "B/172", showing red crayon "17", red London Paid transit c.d.s. (3.12), "16/cents" accountancy h.s., New York transit d.s. and, on reverse, legible "singapore/p.o" double-ring d.s. in red; the envelope a little roughly opened at right resulting in part of one stamp being torn off.
