Lot: 223
PeruIncoming Mail1779 circa. Folded cover from Cádiz (Spain) to Lima, via Corunna and Buenos Aires, rated on departure with boxed "3 Pta." marking, then transported overland to Corunna where it was struck by "España" straight-line postmark in a different shade in red, following embarkation on the "El Clarendón" frigate as corroborated by the endorsement at left, departing from the north of Spain to call at Buenos Aires in America, following an overland route via Potosí. An exceptional and very rare combination of postmarks applied at Corunna and Cádiz, these cities being differenciately located on the northern and southern coasts of Spain. Ex Camino.
