PeruOutgoing Mail1839, July 31. Entire letter from Lima to Seville (Spain), graced by magnificent strike of "Perú" straight-line handstamp in red, and "8R" due marking in same colour, both applied at Cádiz. Vertical fold, small tear in centre and barely visible rust spotting. One of only three covers known after 1821, during the period of independence of most of the American colonies, bearing this "Perú" postmark.
