CubaOutgoing Mail1841, Oct. 19. Entire letter from Havana to Genoa (Sardinia), carried via Cádiz by a Spanish mail ship, with two-line "Islas de/Barlovento" handstamp (P.E. 3) in red, in Spain transmitted overland with St.-Jean-de-Luz French entry c.d.s., small "2" due marking for the foreign leg of the journey, handwritten "27" to be paid by the addressee for the single rate, and "Via Di Nizza" straight line applied on the French-Italian border. Backstamps including Ain, Antibes and Montpellier. An extraordinary usage of the "Islas de Barlovento" postmark on mail not addressed to Spain. Ex Kouri.
