ColombiaClassic Period1859, 20c. blue, stone A, unusually deep rich colour, clear to mostly large margins, tied to piece by "Medellin./Franca." oval in blue and "GB/1F60c." Anglo-French accountancy marking denoting single rate: the application of this postmark on a Colombian adhesive is absolutely exceptional, and it represents a very rare usage as only less than five first-issue covers are recorded addressed to a transatlantic destination; this fragment would have very probably belonged to a letter addressed to France.
