Colombian AirmailsSociedad Colombo-Alemana de Transportes Aéreos (SCADTA)First Issue1921, Sept. 14, Experimental Flight. Cover (rough opening at right) from Barranquilla addressed to General Pedro Nel Ospina Vázquez, who will became President of the Republic in the following year, bearing 30c. black on rose on back, tied by Scadta "(Compañía Anónima)" four-line handstamp and receiving framed datestamp of Bogotá on 14 September; on front, National Post 3c. tied by "Correos Aéreos/Barranquilla" oval handstamp with inserted date. Also a double rate cover from the same flight addressed to General Nel Ospina as well, with one 30c. adhesive missing, and endorsement partly denoting carriage by the "Colombia" seaplane, showing the Scadta four-line handstamp and Bogotá arrivals on 14 & 15 September. As well as 30c. on piece endorsed "Por Hidroavión 'Cauca' ", tied by Bogotá c.d.s. on Sept. 8, and Scadta three-line handstamp adjacent. Very desirable, two of the very few covers known. Scott C14.
