ColombiaFourth Issue1861-62, 20c. red, an extraordinary mint example, featuring an outstandingly clear and uniform impression for this stamp, brilliant colour, clear margins all around. Small hingeing clear spot where only part of the gum is missing, only mentioned for accuracy. The rarest unused stamp of Colombian philately, of which only seven examples are recorded, including the solely five copies known in private hands and the two examples in the Tapling collection; this stamp possess the added significance of boasting original gum. One of the gems of South American stamps. Some of the most renowned collectors of Colombia had no unused examples of this stamp in their lifetime collections; (the great collector of Latin America, Dr. Norman Hubbard, as well as the renowned collectors Ferrary and Caspary, were even able to gather two examples, this being an extraordinary achievement). A good opportunity either to obtain this extremely difficult mint stamp or to match the "aristocrats" of philately by acquiring a second example. Scott 20. Ex Hubbard. Photo
