France1870, The Usages of the "Siège" Type Issues. The "Utilisation des Timbres au Type Siège" comprehensive collection making up an awarded postal-history exhibit comprising 128 pages, mounted with detailed descriptions and presented with discernment according to the following chapters: I. The Siege of Paris and its postal consequences: local mail during the Siege, ballon montées including scarce destinations, rare censored mail, P.O.W. mail, the "Commune" with detained mail and external correspondence. II. Usages after the War: including better cancellations, underfranked mail, telegram, exceptional frankings, varieties, 10c. bisects, printed matter rates, 20c. tête-bêches, insured mail featuring high frankings, acknowledgement of receipt forms, postal fraud accompanied by legal-process document issued by the post, postal relationships with occupied territories, external mail sent to the Colonies, French P.O.'s abroad and other foreign territories (including two combination frankings, rare exotic destinations, one cover sent through the Consul in Panama addressed to a navy sailor stationed in the South Pacific, etc.) III.
