France30 October 1856. Entire letter from Crimea sent to the Commander of a retreating battalion in Bonnetan (France), rated with "30" décimes marking, with two strikes, on front and reverse, of "67e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne/Le Conseil d'Admon" circular cachet in blue. Various French transits on both sides. Manuscript signed notation with signature inside stating that the addressee had died in a hospital in Constantinople as a result of a shot in the skull. Some imperfections, not detracting from this very scarce usage from Crimea with cachet of a military unit. Photo
