Latin AmericaChile1867, American Bank Note Co. Issue. A stunning assembly comprising two essays featuring unadopted designs made by the A.B.N., which were presented to the Chilean Government; and a selected group of 11 covers including "Carta Tarjeta" postcard bearing an extremely rare franking with two 1c. values in distinctly different shades, the largest recorded franking of the scarcely used 1c. (on cover front), 1868-75 two 5c. single frankings with a very rare use of a datestamp on this issue prior its usage was permitted in 1877, 5c. multiple frankings including block of four, block of four+pair, strip of six and one large envelope with 11 examples (one single and five pairs), a very rare via Panama Wells Fargo 3c. envelope additionally franked with 5c. (3)+10c. in an extraordinary United States-Chile combination franking, and rare 5c. embossed postal stationery envelope uprated with 5c. (5) & 10c. in a very late period (1880) when, as a result of the shortage of adhesives available during the Pacific War, it was authorized the usage or remainders of this issue. An extraordinary group including several key rarities of this, the first perforated issue of classic Chile; also a unique opportunity for collectors being interested in starting a new collection with some gems, representing a consistent basis to expand.
