1853, 2sgr. black on blue, a very fresh diagonal half used as 1sgr. to pay the single rate within Brunswick, partly cut slightly into at right, good margin at top, on entire addressed to Holzminden, tied by "18" square cancel of diagonal bars in blue, which was infrequently applied twice giving the appearance of a crossed bars cancellation, matching framed "Halle a.d. Weser 26/10 7-8M" datestamp at top right. Cover with some soiling and stamp showing small repair at right in order to balance the appearance of its right margin. A significant rarity of Brunswick, unlisted by Dr. Marx in his work on bisects of this territory. Cert. Lange. Mi. 7aH.
