St. Thomas-La Guaira-Puerto Cabello. 1867 2r. orange-yellow, stone II, Caracas printing, cleanly tied by "Correos/Caracas" double circle on single weight cover, dated 21 April 1868, to Leghorn (Italy), via British steamer to London where the boxed currency mark "GB/1F60c" was applied, following application of Calais entry and French "10" décimes postage due mark on front, and arrival on reverse. This yellow stamp was intended to be sold only in St. Thomas, although it was used in Caracas as a "Provisional" during a period of shortage of adhesives. Cover cleaned to remove staining along filing crease. A rare stamp on cover, with few examples known. Cert. Holcombe. Yv. 10A.
