1859, 60c. grey lilac, wide even margins all around, on single weight cover to Rosario in Uruguay, tied by Montevideo red oval cancel, dated July 7, 1859. The extensively used oval datestamp of Montevideo was applied in red only during the first month of issue. The second earliest recorded cover of this issue, also featuring this fascinating red usage, of which, regardless of the franking, extremly few genuine covers are recorded. Signed A. Diena, G. and A.
