Actienbrauerei già Bonzanigo-Jauch in Bellinzona. Certificato 5 Azioni, Fr. 200 caduna. Bellinzona, 1. Luglio 1907. Unissued. This brewery dates back to the year 1835. In 1900 it was bought by a group of beer enthusiasts from the other side of the Alps. They created a SA, introduced a German name, but kept a part of the old owner’s name: Actienbrauerei già Bonzanigo-Jauch. In 1908 the old owner’s name was dropped and the brewery became Actienbrauerei Bellinzona. In the year 1929, in order to integrate the brewery into the local market, its name was again changed to Birra Bellinzona S.A. In 1980, it was taken over by the Eichhof brewery from Luzern. Four year later, production in Bellinzona ceased and the property was sold to the commune of Bellinzona. Vignette showing the brewery on the river Ticino, in the background the Alps. EF.
