This company is a successor of the famous Compañia General de Comercio de los cinco Gremios Mayores de Madrid. In 1679, the five guilds (jewellery, haberdashery, silk, draperies and wool merchants) merged. In the 18th century, the Compañia was the biggest Spanish trading company, its activity spread from Europe to Asia and America. In 1846, it was liquidated. The Sociedad Fabril y Comercial de los Gremios was its successor. The certificate shows the coat of arms of the five guilds. Stains, Tear in junction with second page. Tear repaired. Rare. VF.
