The Cavour Canal is an 85km irrigation canal between the rivers Po at Chivasso (Torino) and Ticino at Galliate (Novara). It was built between 1863 and 1866 and cost L 45 Million. The Italian politician, Count of Cavour (1810-1861) was one of its main supporters. VF.
