Trains à Vapeur sans Rails (Système Scotte), Association en participation pour la création de l‘exploitation. Part de F 500, Lyon, 3. November 1897. In the year 1892 the hat maker from Champagne J. Scotte started producing various steam cars and participated in the first official 1894 car race from Paris-Rouen with one of his own cars. In 1893, he founded the Sociéte de Chaudières et de Voitures à Vapeur in Paris and began manufacturing boilers and steam engines for commercial steam vehicles. In 1897, he developed the Train Scotte. This steam-powered vehicle could accommodate up to six people and reached a maximum speed of 12 km / h. The Train Scotte was used as the first public steam bus for passenger transport in Paris between Le pont de Neuilly and Courbevoie. Even a military use was considered. The vehicle, however, had disastrous effects for the road and its maneuvering was deemed too difficult. In 1914, the company stopped production and Scotte went back to Champagne to produce hats again. One of the rare steam car scripophily. EF.
