1927, May 20- Transatlantic Flight by De Pinedo, Trepassy - Rome Stage. 1927 60c. black, "Air Mail/De Pinedo/1927" overprint, an exceptional example, extraordinarily well centred within large margins, very fresh used on envelope to Naples (Italy), tied by St. John's machine cancellation dated 20 May, with Trepassy datestamp adjacent, backstamped on receipt. Some slight soiling is of little significance and does not detract from this great airmail-rarity (only 300 "De Pinedo" stamps were printed). Cert. Longhi and A. Diena.
