1846, 10 c. black, worn impression, a large margined block of eight (2x4) which originally comprised of a block of 12, the right hand vertical row of four being severed when the letter was opened (small portions of the four missing adhesives are still visible), tied by blurred strikes of Rio Grande on entire letter endorsed ''P. Vapor'' to Rio de Janeiro, dated 13 April 1849. Despite imperfections, less than ten covers from Rio Grande in this issue are believed to exist, with also less than ten covers known franked by twelve adhesives of this denomination. Cert.
