Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike Road. Share. Philadelphia, 16. März 1795. Nr. 1039. The Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike was a pioneer in American street building. The road was taken over by the state of Pennsylvania in 1911. Copperplate engraving on parchment, embossed stamp. Signature of William Bingham (1752-1804), Statesman from Philadelphia and delegate for Pennsylvania to the Continental Congress from 1786 to 1788. He served in the United States Senate from 1795 to 1801. In very good condition. EF.
